North Las Vegas has surprised many with a proposal: a name change to “Gus.” Spearheaded by Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown, the initiative aims to redefine the city’s identity, distancing it from its reputation and image. “Gus represents growth, innovation, and inclusivity,” Mayor Goynes-Brown declared. The move signifies North Las Vegas’s desire to assert its independence, no longer wishing to be associated with its renowned neighbor, Las Vegas. While some applaud the progressive step, others question its economic impact and historical significance and stupidity.. Critics fear confusion among tourists and logistical hurdles. Yet, proponents remain resolute, viewing it as a chance to reshape North Las Vegas/Gus into a dynamic, autonomous destination. In a related story, there is some talk now of Las Vegas considering a name change to “South Gus.”  Stay tuned citizens,
